About Us Community Visitors Scheme Wynnum
Wynnum Baptist Church is the sponsoring organisation for the Community Visitors Scheme.
It commenced in February 1992 with 15 approved visitors and now approval for 92 visitors.
The Scheme is an initiative of the Australian Government and is funded through the
Department of Social Services. It is a community based Scheme and invites participants
from a diversity of ages, backgrounds and cultures.

The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is an Australian Government funded
program established to promote links between people living in an aged care
home and the wider community. The object of the Community Visitors Scheme
is to provide one-to-one volunteer visitors to residents of Australian Government
funded Residential Aged Care Homes who are socially isolated or lonely, and
whose quality of life would be improved by friendship and companionship.
